I got a chance to showcase my versatility. I played mostly linebacker out there. That was new to me but I felt like I acclimated to it rather quickly.JM: Are you making the transition from outside linebacker to strong side linebacker at the next level?BB: I wouldn’t say that, no. I don’t see myself as a stand-up linebacker like I was playing at the Senior Bowl. I still see myself as a pass rusher.JM: So you don’t think you’ll be playing strong side linebacker in the NFL?BB: It’s not up to me to make that decision. I do think I’m a better fit as a pass rusher though, specifically an outside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme.JM: If your pro team asks you to make that transition, what do you think will be the biggest challenge you’ll face?BB: Doing it at the Senior Bowl allowed me to get a little familiar with what I’d potentially be doing in that role. I can already see that one challenge I would maybe encounter would be learning the position and how to read my keys and what not. I think that would be the biggest challenge, just getting familiar with the responsibilities. I’m fully capable of playing the position athletically though. He’s another guy that’s getting some early round buzz. Those are the three that immediately come to mind.JM: Do you feel your game is more refined against the pass or run at this time?BB: I’d say I’m pretty refined in both areas. Balance has always been the key for me. That’s what I’ve always strived for. There’s always room for growth though. I’ll never be satisfied with where I’m at in either area. Bengals Week 3 rookie report: Sam Hubbard inches away from greatness; Mark Walton gets one chance In a game filled with injuries Jonah Williams Jersey Womens , the Bengals first-round pick missed his first career game, the team’s fourth-round pick made his debut. Starting center Billy Price watched from the sidelines wearing street clothes and a specialized boot that hopes to heal his foot in the next week or two. On the field, running back Mark Walton was the offense’s sole option behind Giovani Bernard, and got his first taste of regular season action. Find out how he and the other rookies played in the Bengals 31-21 defeat in Carolina in this week’s rookie report:Jessie BatesThe Panthers offense realized early in the game that they didn’t need to test the Bengals secondary (sans cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick) when they could just run the ball down the Bengals defense’s throat. Quarterback Cam Newton only threw the ball 24 times, and he never tested Bates at free safety. In fact, he rarely tested the deep middle of the field at all.Bates’ biggest impact came on shoestring tackle that prevented a long Christian McCaffrey touchdown run. He provided additional run support when the first two levels of the Bengals defense failed in this area with three other solo tackles, but had a quiet day in coverage. His day might be a lot more active when the Bengals take on Matt Ryan’s Falcons, who put up 374 passing yards and five touchdowns against the Saints yesterday.Sam HubbardIt was almost a spectacular day for the non-injured former Ohio State Buckeye. Hubbard and the majority of the Bengals defensive line were ineffective pressuring Newton in the pocket, but a fourth-quarter strip-sack from defensive end Carlos Dunlap gave Hubbard a chance to turn the tide of the game. After falling on the loose ball, Hubbard failed to secure it Jonah Williams Cincinnati Bengals Jersey , and the Panthers would later punt, giving the Bengals much worse field position.After the game, Hubbard recalled the near-turnover: “I just got too aggressive. Saw it on the ground, dove on it. It’s hot and humid - and the grass - it slipped out. Popped out from under me and I didn’t even know where it went.”Later in the quarter, Hubbard broke through the Panthers line on their next punt and got his fingers on the ball again. Hubbard’s efforts caused the punt to come up noticeably short of its intended distance, but a blocked punt instead of a tipped punt gives the Bengals a much better chance of scoring on that drive, which ended in quarterback Andy Dalton’s third interception of the game. These two plays would’ve canceled out the non-impact performance Hubbard had as a pass-rusher and edge-setter. Without Michael Johnson playing, Hubbard underwhelmed in the rotation. He has an intriguing matchup with Atlanta’s right tackle Ryan Schraeder next week, who has had a shaky start to his season.Malik JeffersonThe Bengals linebackers were exposed in run defense against the Panthers rushing attack, but Jefferson had to watch it from the sidelines again. He was fourth on the team in special teams snaps. If Jefferson doesn’t see the field next week Jonah Williams Jersey 2019 , he may not get a chance in the near future with Vontaze Burfict returning from his suspension and Preston Brown returning from his ankle injury. He may not be the answer, but it wouldn’t hurt to see if he can step up in an area they are clearly lacking in with the current state of the position group. Mark WaltonIt was a surprise for most to see the Bengals only activate two running backs, but with Thomas Rawls dealing with cramps, it was just Giovani Bernard and Walton dressed on Sunday. Walton only saw one carry in his seven snaps, and it was negated by an Alex Redmond hold. It may be the most impressive play from the NFL this week that didn’t count.Walton is familiar with the kind of blocking he received here, as he saw nothing but opposing players in his face in the backfield all preseason long. This time, he actually made something out of nothing. It’s a shame that it got called back for a blatant hold from Redmond, as well as it being the only time Walton touched the ball. Considering Joe Mixon could be playing next week, the next time Walton gets an opportunity to play is a mystery.Did not playBilly Price Darius Phillips - Phillips was active but never saw the fieldAuden TateThe Bengals finish their two-game road stretch against the Falcons and will likely have to do it without Price. A.J. Green appears to be okay after exiting the game with what was initially diagnosed as a groin injury, but if he can’t go White Jonah Williams Jersey , it could be Auden Tate’s turn to dress. Today, we examine the tight ends.After a strong 2017, even with a plethora of injuries, the Packers seemed to feel confident with the offensive line going into 2018. However, the 2018 season ended up with some mixed reviews. Let’s give a quick overall recap before getting into the individual notes.David Bakhtiari has taken over the mantle from the recently retired Joe Thomas as the best pass blocker in the NFL and we saw a significant improvement from center Corey Linsley, as well. Lane Taylor and Bryan Bulaga played through various injuries for a good chunk of the season as they held down their respective positions. We also saw the team find a couple of competent backups that could make some waves while looking for a starting position in the future.The Packers moved on from right guard Jahri Evans in hopes that Justin McCray would take a hold of the position. His play wasn’t anything special and he struggled with injuries. McCray could not get the position back after he was healthy and the Packers turned to the left side too well. That doesn’t seem to be a big deal though as Bakhtiari doesn’t look to let go of the left tackle spot anytime soon. While Spriggs still didn’t look like as good as the starters when he played, he has adapted to the NFL over the past few seasons and has shown some promise to possibly taking over at the right tackle spot whenever the Packers move on from Bryan Bulaga. Hopefully, he continues to make progress under new offensive line coach Adam Stenavich otherwise he’ll be destined for a swing tackle role if he sticks around after his contract expires next season.Lucas Patrick, GuardLucas Patrick seems to be progressing similarly to Jason Spriggs. He started slow in his first couple seasons and now has developed into the top reserve for the interior of the offensive line. While he played well in his limited starts, you can see that he needs to improve his footwork and pass blocking to get a permanent starting spot. Patrick started two games at right guard and two games at left guard throughout the season. He has a similar style to Lane Taylor where he is a better run blocker but, being inside, he can have some cracks in his pass protection as he will get help from the center depending on the call. His versatility in the interior makes him valuable and follows a similar path as past reserves who stepped into a starting position. Justin McCray, GuardJustin McCray had a tough 2018. McCray looked to be the next young player to step up and take hold of an open position but injuries got in his way. He started the season at right guard but was replaced by Pankey, Nico Siragusa, Cole MadisonThese five got little to no playing time in 2018. Alex Light and Adam Pankey got a few snaps here and there but nothing significant. The bright spot is the Packers seemed high on those two at the end of the year and will bring good competition for the reserve positions. Gerhard de Beer, who easily wins the best name on the team award DeShone Kizer Jersey White , and Nico Siragusa were signed late in the year and will look to make some noise in OTAs and training camp. Cole Madison never reported to the team due to personal issues. Hopefully, he gets those issues taken care of and can show people why the Packers took him in the fourth round last year.OVERALL GRADE: B-minusThe Packers offensive line has some mixed results throughout the 2018 season but they were definitely not a black eye for the offense. They did struggle giving up 53 sacks this years, but they also did have Aaron Rodgers holding onto the ball longer than usual and they also threw the ball the third most times in the league. Even with the fewest rushing attempts in the league, they paved the way for the running backs to average five yards per attempt, the second highest yards per attempt in the league. Sure a lot of that might be due to Aaron Jones breaking some huge gains but he’s not getting all those yards without someone opening holes for him. While the right guard position was the weak point, the rest of the starters stayed healthy most of the year and we saw Jason Spriggs and Lucas Patrick prove to be quality backups. The future remains fairly solid for new offensive line coach Adam Stenavich. He will have to find a replacement at right guard but the rest should be around in 2019. One thing is for sure: another year of the majority of the offensive line returning means a strong cohesion going forward. The Green Bay Packers were missing star quarterback Aaron Rodgers when they closed last season with a road loss to the Detroit Lions.When the Packers return to Detroit on Sunday, Rodgers could be without his top three receivers.Davante Adams injured a calf on Wednesday and did not practice on Thursday.Randall Cobb injured a hamstring last week, didn't play on Sunday against Buffalo and hasn't practiced this week.Geronimo Allison suffered a concussion last week and hasn't practiced this week, either."We got a little thin at practice," coach Mike McCarthy said on Thursday morning.That's one way to put it.Of the Packers' 103 completed passes for 1,185 yards and seven touchdowns, 64 catches, 768 yards and six touchdowns have been made by Adams, Allison and Cobb.The receivers who potentially could be in the lineup on Sunday have a combined two catches for 41 yards and zero touchdowns.The next men up are rookies: fifth-round draft pick Marquez Valdes-Scantling, fourth-round pick J'Mon Moore and sixth-round pick Equanimeous St. Brown."At some point in the season, your young players are going to play, and our receiver position is potentially in that situation David Bakhtiari Jersey White ," McCarthy said.Valdes-Scantling played 20 snaps in the first three games and 54 on Sunday against Buffalo, when Cobb was inactive. With the return of Marvin Lewis and the team coming off of two straight losing seasons, the talking heads had the team as a six-win club. But, after the draft and once folks started seeing this year’s team in practices, the national perception changed. Folks began believing this could be a competitive squad this year and their 5-3 start has proved them correct. Right after the schedule release, we made an early prediction of our own on how the Bengals’ season would go. For review, here are the results we had penciled in for the first half of the season:At Colts: WinRavens: WinAt Panthers: LossAt Falcons: LossDolphins: WinSteelers: WinAt Chiefs: LossBuccaneers: WinSo, while we were incorrect on the results in the Pittsburgh and Atlanta contests, our early guess on the 5-3 record before the midway bye rung true. Back in April, we guessed that the second half of the season would lead to a 4-4 record and, ultimately, a 9-7 finish where the team sniffed the postseason. So Womens Andy Dalton Jersey , now that we have a sample size of half of a regular season, are there changes? Are nine wins enough to get the Bengals to the postseason this year?There is an unfortunate caveat to these win-loss predictions: injuries. It would seem that Billy Price, Giovani Bernard, Tyler Kroft, John Ross and Nick Vigil should be returning to the lineup soon, which will be a nice boost for the team down the stretch. However, one of their best players, A.J. Green, is battling a toe/foot injury and his long-term status is a bit uncertain. Week 10, Saints at Bengals: Unfortunately, the Teryl Austin effect has been a negative one on the Bengals’ defense. Since he took over for Paul Guenther, Austin’s defense is ranked dead-last in overall defense and passing defense, while ranking 26th against the run. While Drew Brees and Co. are more comfortable in a dome, this matchup doesn’t bode well for the Bengals next week. New Orleans boasts the 9th ranked passing offense and 17th rated rushing attack. This will either be a blowout, or New Orleans will come into Cincinnati a bit exhausted having spent a massive amount of effort and emotion in beating the Rams in Week 9. We’re sticking with a loss here, though. Result: LossWeek 11, Bengals at Ravens: This contest is one that is so topsy-turvy that it becomes hard to predict. Just as Pittsburgh is Cincinnati’s kryptonite, the Bengals often get the best of the Ravens. An idea of a different Bengals team emerged after they took care of a solid Baltimore squad on national television. Some of that luster has dissipated with losses to the Steelers and Chiefs, but Lewis does have a 19-12 record against his former employers. It’s possible the Bengals pull out a sweep this year, as the Ravens are even more Jekyll-and-Hyde than Cincinnati this year Womens A.J. Green Jersey , but we’ll go with the series being split. We especially feel this way if Green, the perennial Raven-killer, is sidelined as it appears that that is going to be the case. Result: LossWeek 12, Browns at Bengals: This one will be interesting, as Cleveland has proven to be scrappier than their 2-5-1 record would indicate. They’ve fired Hue Jackson and Gregg Williams comes in as the interim head coach. Can he inspire a late-season turnaround to respectability?The Browns have also made a change at quarterback, as Baker Mayfield is now the unquestioned starter. The “Battle of Ohio” may be headed to a split this year, but I’m not so sure. In Williams’ debut as head coach, Cleveland got predictably stomped by Kansas City.Result: WinWeek 13 Broncos at Bengals: This matchup has had its tugs-of-war in recent years, but Case Keenum doesn’t seem to be the long-term answer at quarterback for Denver. The Broncos are 3-6 and don’t have a ton of signs of trending upward. One wild card in this matchup is the tandem of Von Miller and Bradley Chubb. The former has nine sacks this year, while Chubb is a Defensive Rookie of the Year candidate with eight sacks of his own. Can the Bengals’ inconsistent offensive line rise up to the challenge? We think they will as Denver keeps finding ways to lose close games. Result: WinWeek 14, Bengals at Chargers: Under Lewis, the Bengals are actually 5-3 against the Chargers. Believe it or not, Cincinnati is actually 3-1 when traveling to the west coast to face the Chargers under their long-tenured head coach. Most look at this and automatically see a loss for Cincinnati, which is understandable given the Chargers’ 6-2 record. Los Angeles has a solid roster this season, but they do have weaknesses that can be exploited. Still, with the Bengals dealing with so many injuries and their defense underwhelming right now, the Chargers could start to tip the recent record scale back to being close to even. Result: LossWeek 15, Raiders at Bengals: Initially, this seemed like a really tough matchup on the schedule. Oakland made a needed change at head coach, and most thought that Jon Gruden would bring his quarterback whisperer skills to fix Derek Carr. Well, it’s been an absolute dumpster fire for the Raiders this year, starting 1-7 and being recently embarrassed on Thursday Night Football. Cincinnati should cruise to a comfortable win here without many problems. I still think they are a year away from truly being competitive in the division. Even so, we expect these two games will probably be frustrating for Bengals fans to watch, in terms of performance and them being close contests, even if they end up both being wins for Cincinnati. Result: WinWeek 17 Bengals at Steelers: Something tells me that this one will have some major implications going into January. Pittsburgh still has bragging rights over the Bengals after a last-second comeback win at Paul Brown Stadium, but they’ve shown major warts and have a pretty tough back half of the schedule (Ravens, Chargers, Patriots and Saints).Pittsburgh just secured a huge win over the Ravens in Baltimore, pushing them further down the playoff pecking order at 4-5, and stomped the Panthers on Thursday Night Football. If Cincinnati can get a win in Maryland of their own in Week 11, the Ravens’ postseason hopes will essentially be dead. Of Cincinnati’s eight meager wins against Pittsburgh in the Lewis era, six have inexplicably come at Heinz Field. Could the 49ers double down on wide receiver?"According to Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle Tom Rathman Jersey , the San Francisco 49ers worked out Fresno State wide receiver KeeSean Johnson.Johnson finished in the top 10 nationally with 95 receptions and 1,340 receiving yards (14.1 average), scoring eight times to garner second-team All-Mountain West accolades. Johnson also had over 1,000 yards and eight touchdowns in 2017, too.As far as his athletic testing went, Johnson failed to stand out. He ran a 4.6 40-yard dash. That’s not the end of the world if you show well in other areas. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. Johnson had a 30” vertical jump, a 7.28 3-cone drill, and a 4.23 20-yard shuttle. Each of those are below average. Outside of the obvious outliers, you will have a tough time finding good football players that run over a 7.20 3-cone time. That’s just history.Johnson has produced each year. He has that going for him. He also has shown he can play both inside and outside. What I’m interested in is will the 49ers double down on receiver? Johnson is projected to go after the third round. Everyone is expecting the 49ers to spend a pick on a wide receiver before that. Could Kyle Shanahan convince John Lynch to spend two picks? Or is this a situation where Johnson goes undrafted and the team signs him then? Antonio Brown may never reach Jerry Rice’s level of accomplishments.But according to Rice, he wants to wear the same uniform.During an interview on 95.7 The Game, the league’s all-time leader in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns said he spoke to Brown via FaceTime on Sunday, so he trusts his source.“He wants to come here really badly,” Rice said, via Matt Maiocco of .That’s something Rice would like to see as well http://www.49erslockerroom.com/authentic-deion-sanders-jersey , if the Steelers want to ship Brown to the West Coast. The 49ers have just five draft picks, including the No. 2 and 36 overall picks.
