When it comes to LeBron James, all thats certain is this: One fan base is about to feel scorned, and other is about to feel absolute joy. Miami or Cleveland? The same choice he faced four years ago is the one facing the four-time NBA MVP now. He became a champion in Miami. He still calls Ohio home. Its obviously not an easy decision, and the ramifications of what hes about to say -- its still unclear when any announcement will be coming, but its more than likely sooner than later -- will have a massive impact on the Heat and the Cavaliers. For the Heat, keeping James is likely the only way they can stay a championship-contending team for a fifth straight season next year. If he stays, it would seem likely that Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh would re-sign with Miami as well, keeping the "Big 3" that has played in each of the last four NBA Finals intact for at least another season. For the Cavaliers, its a chance to welcome home the player who fans -- and the teams owner Dan Gilbert -- directed so much scorn toward when he left in 2010 after seven brilliant seasons. James left Las Vegas late Thursday, two people close to the situation told The Associated Press. One of those people said James and Wade were flying together to Miami, and that James would be continuing on from there for his long-planned trip to Brazil for the World Cup finals. The people spoke on condition of anonymity because none of the details were revealed publicly. Earlier Thursday, James again appeared at his skills academy for the nations top high school and college players, scrimmaging and then watching games in the afternoon with some friends, including Wade. Meanwhile, in Bath Township, Ohio, cars lined the streets near James 30,000-square-foot mansion in anticipation of an announcement. People posed for photographs and TV news crews did remote reports from the driveway of his off-season home. ------ As he makes his choice, heres some things he may be considering about returning to Cleveland: BUSINESS HEADQUARTERS: Northeast Ohio is where James and his close friends grew up. He has business interests in the Cleveland area. He and his LRMR agency recently signed popular college quarterback Johnny Manziel to a marketing deal. Manziel now plays for the Browns. YOUNG ROSTER: Although the Cavaliers havent made the playoffs since he left, they can offer James a young roster filled with potential and promise. Theyre led by All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving, who recently agreed to sign a five-year contract extension, and the Cavs also have two other No. 1 overall draft picks in Anthony Bennett and Andrew Wiggins. COACHING STAFF: Clevelands coaching situation could be a concern. The Cavs are on their third coach since James left and the team recently hired David Blatt, an international icon but someone who has not coached in the U.S. before. The Cavs did hire well-respected assistant Tyronn Lue, who has a strong relationship with James. CAVS ASSETS: The Cavs have assets they could trade to bring another elite player to Cleveland and have had preliminary talks with Minnesota about a deal for forward Kevin Love. OWNER: The biggest obstacle in James possible return could be his relationship with Gilbert. In the hours after James left four years ago, Gilbert blistered James in a scathing letter to Cleveland fans. In an AP interview that same night, Gilbert said James quit during the playoffs. ------ And while James has strong ties to Ohio, he has also forged them in Miami. PROVEN WINNERS: Instead of potential, the Heat are proven champions. James has been to four straight NBA Finals with Miami, winning two championships. They have made good on the promise Heat President Pat Riley made to James four years ago: Come to Miami, be part of something special, and compete for titles every year. COACHING STAFF: There hasnt been turnover in Miamis coaching staff and front office since James joined the Heat. Hes played for just one coach, Erik Spoelstra, and Riley has championship pedigree. OWNER: Unlike the situation with Gilbert, theres no rancour with Heat owner Micky Arison. The Heat have preached a family approach to everything, even allowing members of James inner circle access to the locker room and other team areas -- no minor thing within the framework of the Heat culture. BIG 3: James came to Miami in large part to play with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, both of whom also are free agents. Its hard to envision Bosh staying if James leaves. Its easy to see both Wade and Bosh recommitting instantly, if James decides to stay in Miami. MIAMI INVESTMENTS: His wife has a juice bar in the Brickell neighbourhood of Miami and James is said to be investing in a chain of pizza restaurants coming soon to South Florida. He doesnt have Miami roots, but hes created ties to South Florida nonetheless. ------ Its easy to see why James is torn. Whether it was one of Gilberts planes coming to South Florida, or movers packing up James luxury cars from his Coconut Grove, Florida home, or reports that a cupcake shop in Ohio had heard from people that James had already decided to return to Cleveland, any nugget of information sets the rumour mill into overdrive. But his camp says he has all the information needed to make a decision. The ball is now in LeBron James hands. Mike Bibby Jersey . With nothing tangible at stake, the Raptors turned in their most impressive outing of the fall in their seventh and second to last exhibition tilt against their stiffest competition yet, but they lost a couple starters in the process. Mike Conley Jersey .com) - Colorado may be ahead of the Vancouver Canucks in the Western Conference standings, but they are a club that the Avalanche may want to avoid in the playoffs.GLENDALE, Ariz. - Boston coach Claude Julien challenged his teams pride and the Bruins went out and gave him the response he wanted.Brad Marchand scored twice, Tuukka Rask stopped 31 shots and Boston used a quick start to beat the reeling Arizona Coyotes 5-2 Saturday night and avoid a winless road trip.Kevan Miller, Simon Gagne and Loui Eriksson also scored for Boston, which won at Arizona for the fifth straight time and finished 1-3 on its western trip.A long practice, lengthy video session and a couple of lineup changes followed a dismal loss to San Jose on Thursday when the Bruins blew a 2-0 lead.Boston jumped out to the same lead this time, but didnt give it up.We didnt want to go back home having not won a game, Julien said. I thought we played well enough on this trip that somewhere along the way we should come out with a win. This was our last crack at it, and we found a way to get that win that we desperately needed.Marchand scored 58 seconds in and added his team-best eighth goal late in the second period that chased Coyotes goalie Devan Dubnyk. You could tell the guys were desperate, Marchand said. We played really good right from the get-go.The Coyotes remain a troubled team.Joe Vitales second-period goal ended Arizonas 185:34 scoring drought at home. But it was 5-1 before Mikkel Boedkers power-play goal early in the third period as the Coyotes lost their seventh straight on home ice for the longest home skid since the franchise moved to Arizona in 1996.Somebodys got to grab something and give us a little lifeline, Coyotes coach Dave Tippett said. The guys that it usually comes down to when the teams struggling is the goaltenders, and we havent been able to find consistency in that.Arizonas mistakes started early.Dougie Hamilton picked off Oliver Ekman-Larssons pass in the neutral zone, and Marchand took Reilly Smiths pass and beat Dubnyk short-side to put Boston ahead beefore a minute was played.ddddddddddddBoston went up 2-0 less than 6 minutes in when defenceman Miller knocked in his own rebound after a poor clear by Dubnyk behind the net.I dont know if they took it right to us. We gave it to them, Tippett said. The first two goals were just plain turnovers by us.Dubnyk didnt provide a spark for Tippett, who yanked Mike Smith after he gave up three goals on 20 shots in Thursdays 4-0 loss to Los Angeles.Marchands second goal beat an out-of-position Dubnyk, making it 4-1 late in the second period. Tippett again turned to Smith, who quickly gave up Erikssons first goal in 13 games. Its disappointing because I thought our effort was there, Dubnyk said. The Coyotes ended their long scoring drought when Vitales wrist shot beat Rask stick-side at 13:11 of the first period. Arizona hadnt scored in consecutive games and the equivalent of three full games on home ice.Kyle Chipchura, who cleared waivers, didnt play for Arizona, David Schlemko was sent to the minors and Rob Klinkhammer was traded to Pittsburgh after being a healthy scratch Thursday.Arizona also got defenceman Connor Murphy back after missing two games due to injury. And forward Jordan Martinook made his NHL debut and defenceman Andrew Campbell his Coyotes debut after being called up a day earlier.None made a difference for Arizona, which has dropped eight of 10 and last won at home Nov. 4.I felt there were two desperate teams here tonight, Julien said. Somebody had to be hungrier than the other, and its nice to see that it was us.NOTES: Gagnes goal off his skate was waved off by the officials, but overturned on replay when it was determined he didnt kick it in. ... Seth Griffith and Joe Morrow dressed for Boston after being recent healthy scratches, leaving David Pastrnak and Matt Bartkowski out of the lineup. ... Boston hasnt lost four straight in regulation since March 2012.
