A closer look at the Greubel Forsey Balancier S² watch Greubel Forsey launched its first sports watch in 2015, a marked change to the brand's decade-long tradition. The GMT Black was a major step for the company, and it was followed by the GMT Sport and the Balancier S (a simple model). Now, the company has strengthened its position in sports watchmaking with the introduction of the Greubel Forsey Balancier S² watch. This update to the Balancier S comes with new bracelet options, dial tone options, and a titanium bezel and case. Let's take a closer look at what the Balancier S² has to offer.
Greubel Forsey Balancier S² launch
The products Greubel Forsey has launched since 2015 have been designed specifically for the sports watch market, including more casual bracelets or straps and lighter high-tech case and movement materials. You can usually recognize them by their more ergonomic design, use of grade 5 titanium, and high water resistance up to 100 meters. For 2022, the company has released a new model that fits these characteristics; the Balancer S². This watch features a number of updates over the Balancier S released in 2020. On initial inspection, you'll notice several design upgrades, new dial shades and movement options, new bracelet options, and a completely new case design. Greubel Forsey calls the Balancier S² "the new flagship of Greubel Forsey". Considering the differences between this model and its predecessor, that's a pretty accurate description. While the Balancier S and the Balancier S² share some features, the latter has a bolder, cleaner look and design. That said, Greubel Forsey diehards will love this watch for its more traditional offerings. The model stays true to the company's unrivaled finishes, top-of-the-line mechanics and bold aesthetics.
