Late in the Chicago Bears’ 24-10 victory against the New York Jets Chicago Bears Hoodie , starting right guard Kyle Long had his right foot rolled up on by tight end Dion Sims. Long had to be helped off the field and he was carted to the locker room. The injury wasn’t Sims’ fault, it was just one of those things that happens in an NFL pile. Long was spotted in the Soldier Field locker room on crutches, but the Bears are hopeful this is only a minor setback. Head coach Matt Nagy said the team would keep their “fingers crossed that he’s OK.” Nagy also called Long “an unbelievable leader.”The 29-year old Long hasn’t missed a game this season after undergoing three offseason surgeries (neck, shoulder and elbow). He had surgery to repair his right ankle after his 2016 season ended, and that slowed the start to his 2017 season. If Long is forced to miss any time this year that will make it three straight seasons he had to sit out due to various injuries. Long’s back up would likely be Eric Kush if he’s healthy, but Kush missed today’s game with a neck injury. Bradley Sowell came in for Long on Sunday against the Jets, and the recently signed Bryan Witzmann is also on the roster at guard. Once more is revealed about Long’s foot injury we’ll pass it along right here at WCG.The Bear’s Den, October 17, 2018 BEAR DOWN, CHICAGO BEARS, BEAR DOWN!!!!BEARRRSSSS5@5: Can Matt Nagy Really Handle Criticism? - 670 The Score - The Mully & Haugh crew debates a five-pack of questions every weekday.Perez: Taylor Gabriel says Mitch Trubisky ‘throws a real good deep ball’ - Bears Wire - Chicago Bears WR Taylor Gabriel complimented QB Mitch Trubisky's touch and accuracy on passes down the fieldBears RT Bobby Massie claims he lost 12 pounds during loss to Dolphins - Bears Wire - Chicago Bears right tackle Bobby Massie really felt the heat in his team's overtime loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 6.Perez: Chicago Bears QB Mitch Trubisky on pace for historic season - Bears Wire - Chicago Bears QB Mitch Trubisky is on pace to shatter the Bears' single-season passing records.Dennehy: Second Collapse Raises Questions About Defense - Da Bears Blog - A fumble at the one.
