ATLANTA -- For Ryan Doumit, the wait was agonizing. Trevor Van Riemsdyk Jersey . Imagine how the Milwaukee Brewers were feeling. Doumits pinch-hit single brought home two runs after the Brewers summoned a relief pitcher who had not even been warming up, capping a three-run seventh inning that carried the Atlanta Braves to a 5-4 victory Thursday night. Milwaukee manager Ron Roenicke told the umpires that Will Smith would take the mound in a double switch, even though Smith had not thrown at all in the bullpen. After a lengthy delay while the umpires tried to sort things out, even getting on the headsets to talk with the video review centre in New York, Smith was forced to face Doumit after tossing only the customary eight warm-up pitches. Doumit fouled a ball off each foot before ripping a single to left, bringing home the tying and go-ahead runs. "It was a painful at-bat," he said, "but a good result." The Brewers were down two coaches, and that certainly affected their game protocol. Pitching coach Rick Kranitz and bullpen coach Lee Tunnell were both excused to attend graduations, and Rick Tomlin, normally the minor league pitching co-ordinator, filled in for Kranitz. "My fault. Miscommunication," Roenicke said. "Theres a certain way we do things, and when Kranitz isnt here, I didnt go back and tell Rick Tomlin who to get up and bring in. Its my fault." The Braves trailed 4-1 heading to the bottom of the sixth. B.J. Upton hit a two-out homer, barely clearing the right-field wall, and the Braves rallied for the win the next inning. Gerald Laird also had a key hit, a run-scoring double that ricocheted off an infielders glove. Jean Segura had three hits for Milwaukee and scored two runs, driven home both times by two-out hits from Jonathan Lucroy. Alex Wood (4-5) worked a scoreless inning for the win, and Craig Kimbrel earned his 12th save. Brandon Kintzler (1-2) took the loss, failing to retire the only batter he faced. Chris Johnson started the Atlanta seventh with a single. Dan Uggla, in a rare start, singled to left after fouling off three pitches to keep the at-bat alive. Kintzler took over for starter Matt Garza, but Laird ripped one off the glove of third baseman Mark Reynolds, the ball rolling into short left field. A run scored, and Laird hustled to second for a double that barely got out of the infield. Then things really went haywire for the Brewers. After the botched pitching change, Milwaukee pulled in the infield, hoping to cut off the tying run at the plate. Doumit foiled that strategy by lining one past the shortstop, bringing home both Uggla and Laird. Doumit was frustrated with all the delays in the game, which dragged on for 3 hours, 36 minutes and featured three overturned replay calls, not to mention the confusion over Milwaukees pitching change. "Theres a certain pace to the game," Doumit said. "As a player, I dont like waiting around." The Braves would go on to load the bases with one out, extending the rally after yet another video review. Scooter Gennett made a brilliant backhanded stop on Jason Heywards grounder and flipped the ball in one motion to the shortstop Segura, who came off the bag quickly to make a throw to first. That was too late to get Heyward, and the Brewers wound up with no outs on the play when Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez challenged the call. The replay showed Seguras foot came off the bag a split-second before he squeezed the ball in his glove. The Braves failed to take advantage of the overturned call. Smith struck out Freddie Freeman with the bases loaded, and Rob Wooten came in to fan Justin Upton to end the threat. It didnt matter. Dave Carpenter worked a 1-2-3 eighth and Kimbrel worked around a hit batter to lead off the ninth, striking out the side. Garza went 6 1-3 innings, giving up five hits and four runs. Logan Schafers squeeze bunt brought in another Milwaukee run, and Khris Davis finished off Atlanta starter Aaron Harang with an RBI single in the sixth. Harang allowed nine hits and all four Brewers runs in 5 1-3 innings. Notes: Milwaukee slugger Ryan Braun left the game in the fifth because of tightness in his right side. ... Uggla also had a walk and scored two runs in only his second start since May 6. ... Gavin Floyd (0-1) will go against Colorados Jordan Lyles (5-1) on Friday in the opener of a three-game series at Turner Field. The Brewers head to Miami, where Marco Estrada (3-2) will take the mound against Tom Koehler (4-3) of the Marlins. Rod Brind Amour Jersey . Hollis-Jefferson went 5-for-6 from the field and added six rebounds, while Stanley Jefferson contributed 14 points for the Wildcats, who used their trademark tough defense to dominate the games final 24 minutes and advance to Tuesdays winners bracket matchup with Kansas State. Jake Bean Jersey . The (14-15-5) Jets are seventh in the Central Division with 33 points. They trail sixth place Nashville and fifth place Dallas by two points. http://www.hurricanesauthority.com/authentic-brett-pesce-hurricanes-jersey/ .com) - A chant of Zeke reverberated around AT&T Stadium before Ezekiel Elliott powered into the end zone for his fourth and final touchdown.OXFORD, Miss. -- Mississippis Andrew Ritter said his game-winning, 41-yard field goal felt good off his foot. Then he watched with dread as it started drifting right. By the time it reached the uprights, it was dangerously close. The senior held his breath. So did the rest of Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. It sailed through with about a foot to spare. The crowd exploded. It was the finishing touch on Mississippis 27-24 upset victory over No. 6 LSU on Saturday night. "Can you believe it?" Ritter asked. It was a happy ending for Ole Miss (4-3, 2-3 Southeastern Conference) after the Rebels let a 17-point lead slip away when LSUs Zach Mettenberger hit Jarvis Landry for a 4-yard touchdown to tie it at 24 with 3:19 remaining. But the Rebels responded with a methodical, 14-play drive that ended in Ritters field goal with 2 seconds remaining. "This is the biggest win of my life," Ole Miss defensive end Cameron Whigham said. "Im just so proud to be a part of the Ole Miss family and be able to compete with my brothers each Saturday." It capped a remarkable day of upsets across the league. LSU joined Georgia, Texas A&M, Florida and South Carolina as ranked SEC teams to lose Saturday. It was another thrilling game for the Rebels, who lost last week against Texas A&M on a last-second field goal. "What (the team) went through this week, with the outside world having their opinions, you can imagine how proud I am," Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze said. Bo Wallace completed 30 of 39 passes for 346 yards and Jaylen Walton rushed for a career-high 105 yards and two touchdowns for the Rebels, who snapped a three-game losing streak. Ole Miss finished with 525 total yards. LSU had 388. LSU (6-2, 3-2) nearly pulled off the comeback, but couldnt overcome a rough game by Mettenberger, who threw three crucial interceptions. "We didnt do some of the things that we needed to come in here and do," LSU coach Les Miles said. "I really thought we were going to throw those balls and complete them and I thought they were great calls." The winning field goal was redemption for Ritter, who had a 29-yard attempt blocked eaarlier in the fourth quarter. Derek Ryan Jersey. . LSU moved the ball fairly well in the first half, especially on the ground, but Mettenbergers bad decisions and poor throws cost the Tigers dearly. The 6-foot-5, 235-pound senior came into the game leading the SEC with 1,890 yards, 15 touchdowns and just two interceptions. But he had a brutal first half, throwing three interceptions, including two in the end zone. All three were thrown into tight coverage. Mettenberger finished 19-of-33 passing for 274 yards and a touchdown. While Mettenberger was struggling, Wallace started hot, completing 16 of 23 passes for 200 yards in the first half. Ritter kicked a 28-yard field goal in the first quarter to put Ole Miss ahead 3-0 and Barry Brunettis 3-yard touchdown pass to Nick Parker gave the Rebels a 10-0 halftime lead. The Rebels defence was surprisingly stout. They were missing five starters, including linebacker Serderius Bryant, the teams leading tackler. But Ole Miss used a no-name bunch to stop LSU consistently. Chief Brown, Cody Prewitt and Charles Sawyer had the three interceptions. "Im really not surprised at all that we won this game," Prewitt said. "I feel like its the first time this season we played for 60 true minutes." Ole Miss announced a crowd of 61,160, which is the ninth-largest in school history. And the place was rocking by the time Walton broke through for a 2-yard touchdown in the third quarter to give the Rebels a 17-0 lead. But the LSU offence finally came alive in the third quarter, scoring touchdowns on short runs by Kenny Hilliard and Jeremy Hill to pull within 17-14. Ole Miss yanked the momentum right back with a seven-play, 76-yard drive, capped by Waltons spectacular 26-yard touchdown dash through the teeth of LSUs defence. The Rebels had a 24-14 lead and all the momentum early in the fourth quarter, but Korvic Neat dropped a punt and LSU recovered on Ole Miss 13. The defence managed to hold, but LSUs Colby Delahoussaye hit a 41-yard field goal to pull the Tigers within 24-17. Ole Miss squandered another opportunity a few minutes later when Ritters 29-yard field goal was blocked by Ego Ferguson.
