The Seahawks have once again acquired guard J.R. Sweezy.
Sweezy Martavis Bryant Jersey , a seventh-round pick of the Seahawks in 2012, re-signed with Seattle today. To make room for Sweezy on the roster, the Seahawks waived guard Avery Young.
The 29-year-old Sweezy started 14 games for the Buccaneers last season. That was actually the only season he played for the Buccaneers, despite signing a five-year deal worth $32.5 million with them in 2016. He missed the entire 2016 season with a back injury Sam Koch Jersey , and the Bucs released him this offseason.
Despite playing defense in college, Sweezy developed into a starting offensive lineman in Seattle, starting 46 games from 2013 to 2015 for the Seahawks.
The Seahawks need help on the offensive line, and Sweezy should compete with D.J. Fluker and Ethan Pocic for playing time at guard.
Receiver Tyrell Williams has signed his restricted free agent tender with the Los Angeles Chargers.
Chargers general manager Tom Telesco announced the move Monday.
The 26-year-old wideout had 43 catches for 728 yards and four touchdowns in his third season with the Chargers Tyus Bowser Jersey , who signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Western Oregon. Williams had his breakthrough year in 2016, catching 69 passes for 1,059 yards and seven touchdowns.
The Chargers are stacked at receiver with Pro Bowl selection Keenan Allen leading Williams, Travis Benjamin and seventh overall pick Mike Williams Tyler Lockett Jersey , who struggled with injuries as a rookie.
Telesco also said the Chargers plan to pick up their fifth-year option for 2019 on running back Melvin Gordon. The Wisconsin product rushed for a career-best 1,105 yards and had 1,581 total yards from scrimmage last season, ranking fifth in the NFL.
