Fox Sports Ken Rosenthal is reporting that the Giants have signed the second baseman, given an unconditional release by the Atlanta Braves last week. The deal is reportedly a minor league deal, meaning Uggla will report to the Triple-A Fresno Grizzlies. Uggla appeared in 48 games with the Braves this season, hitting .162 with two home runs and 10 runs batted-in. A veteran of nine MLB seasons, Uggla has 1,127 career hits with the Braves and Florida Marlins. He has a .244 career average with 233 home runs and 690 RBI.
